Detailed description of Brighton Dale Links, Red Pine

Brighton Dale Links is a public, 45-hole golf facility located in Kansasville, Wisconsin. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses and one 9-hole course.

The White Birch Course and The Blue Spruce Course are 18-hole, par 72 layouts that measure over 6,900 and 6,600 yards, respectively. The Red Pine Course is a 9-hole, par 36 layout of over 3,500 yards.

All 45 holes at Brighton Dale links offer distinctive variances. The complex features water, mature trees and hilly terrain along with well-manicured playing conditions.

Brighton Dale Links, The White Birch Course and The Red Pine Course both opened for play in 1972. These two courses were designed by Edmund B. Ault. The Blue Spruce Course opened 20 years later, in 1992. The Blue Spruce Course was designed by Steven Halberg.

Brighton Dale Links, The Red Pine Course plays to a par of 36. From the back tees the course plays to 3,505 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 2,851 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 536 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 181 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 2, a 516 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Red Pine Course is # 4, the 181 yard par-3.

Do Not Recall (cart not included), played on Wednesday, July 2013 at 3:45 PM

First, it should be mentioned, the entire Brighton Dale Links complex lies immediately North (across Hwy.142) from Bong State Recreational Area. As well, there is an immediately adjacent picnic area (Brighton Dale Park) with playground, ball diamonds, and trails in a wooded area with pond. I was quite impressed by this Kenosha County complex of courses. Personally, it feels more like a much pricier country club.

Red Pines is the 9-hole course, north of the clubhouse (and the two 18-hole options). The first three fairways take you off through the woods. Sand traps flank nearly every green. There is a bit more variety of elevation here (as opposed to the 18-hole courses, Blue Spruce and White Birch): #1 tees down into a fairway below, #8 has a decided side-slope pitch as well as some rise, and #9 tees from elevated site, across a corner of a huge pond, to a green upslope from the water. Fairways are a good mix of straight, slight doglegs, and the aforementioned #8 which hooks around the backside of the pond/lake. The only place the outside intrudes is the green on #3 and the #4 tee, which back to CTH.Bb (but that is much less traffic then the other courses suffer as they near state highways).

Between this and the two 18-hole courses, you could spend a good couple days here enjoying all there is to offer.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles,Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
